Job summary

Fulton Hogan's Fernhill Quarry in Napier is seeking an Assistant Quarry Manager to join our on-site team. This hands-on role supports the Quarry Manager with day-to-day operations, staying hands-on on machinery, and ensuring safety, production and quality standards are met.

The ideal candidate brings a current A or B Grade Quarry Manager qualification (or is working towards it), holds Class 1/2/4 licences and appropriate WTRs, and has practical quarry experience.

Qualifications

• Current A or B Grade Quarry Manager qualification or working towards.
• Sound knowledge of quarry operations, safety standards, and plant use.
• Ability to lead by example and drive safety on site.
• Strong communication with the crew and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Support The Quarry Manager with daily Fernhill Quarry operations.
• Coordinate site activities to maintain safe, efficient production.
• Operate machinery as required and cover breaks.
• Maintain a safe, productive, well-organised site with the crew.
• Monitor performance, plant use and site requirements.
• Drive safety, quality and environmental standards across the quarry.
• Foster positive relationships and a low-ego culture.
• Assist with planning and problem solving when priorities shift.
