Job summary

Golden Bay Cement, part of the Fletcher Building group, is seeking an experienced Quarries Manager to lead our Portland and Wilsonville quarry operations in New Zealand. This role focuses on safety, efficiency, and long-term resource planning, with accountability for KPI delivery and continuous improvement initiatives.

You will build a positive, inclusive culture, develop the medium- and long-term vision for quarry development, ensure regulatory compliance, and partner closely with manufacturing

Qualifications

Leadership experience in large-scale quarrying, extractive, mining or heavy industrial operations.
Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
Ability to lead improvement initiatives and optimize operations.
Experience with quarry development, extraction activities and resource planning.
Knowledge of NZ health and safety and resource management regulations.

Responsibilities

Lead and safeguard the safe, efficient operation of Portland and Wilsonville quarries.
Foster an inclusive culture focused on learning, coaching, feedback and continuous improvement.
Develop medium- and long-term vision for quarry operations and resource development.
Ensure quarry life planning and pit development stay ahead of demand.
