Job summary

Downer is seeking an experienced Project Engineer to join the Tararua Alliance Delivery Team in the Tararua District, New Zealand. You will contribute across planning, design, and construction, working with project managers, operations, contracts and stakeholders to deliver vital infrastructure for local communities.

You will report to the Programme Project Manager and help deliver a diverse portfolio while actively engaging in site delivery, contract management and performance monitoring to

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualification in Civil Engineering or related discipline.
• Minimum 5 years' experience in civil construction, infrastructure or project delivery.
• Experience coordinating contractors and subcontractors.
• Experience delivering projects from planning through to construction.
• Experience in local government, transport infrastructure or Alliance environments.
• Site Safe Passport.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate day-to-day delivery of civil infrastructure projects.
• Manage on-site contractors, subcontractors and suppliers.
• Monitor safety, quality, cost and programme performance.
• Assist in developing and maintaining project programmes.
• Review designs, specifications and technical documentation.
• Prepare scopes of work for subcontracts and suppliers.
• Liaise with Council representative, utility providers, consultants and contractors.
• Ensure compliance with Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality requirements.
