Job summary

RobLawMax Recruitment in Christchurch, South Island, is seeking an experienced Project Engineer to join a well-established civil construction business delivering infrastructure across New Zealand.

As part of the project delivery team, you will support planning through to completion, coordinate site activities, administer contracts, manage subcontractors and resources, and help monitor programmes and budgets while building strong client and stakeholder relationships.

Qualifications

• Civil construction or infrastructure project experience (5–10 years preferred).
• Experience in contract management, estimating, or project delivery.
• Relevant qualification such as NZCE, Diploma, or Bachelor of Engineering.
• Strong communication, leadership and organisational skills.

Responsibilities

• Coordinating and managing day-to-day site activities
• Administering contracts, including reporting and Notices to Engineer (NTEs)
• Managing subcontractors, suppliers, and site resources
• Monitoring project programmes, budgets, and commercial performance
• Working with site teams to ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, and to a high standard
• Maintaining a strong on-site presence and building positive relationships with clients and stakeholders
