Job summary

NZ Labour Hire is seeking an experienced Mechanical Welder to join our clients’ teams in Hamilton. This role offers ongoing work for a skilled welder with mechanical fabrication background, providing opportunities for career growth.

The ideal candidate will have welding and fabrication expertise, experience with steel and other metals, and the ability to read engineering drawings. You will work both independently and as part of a team while maintaining high safety standards on site.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Mechanical Welder/Fabricator.
• Strong welding and fabrication skills.
• Experience working with steel and other metals.
• Ability to read and understand engineering drawings.
• Reliable and safety-focused attitude.

Responsibilities

• Perform MIG, TIG and/or ARC welding.
• Weld and fabricate mechanical components and structures.
• Read and interpret engineering and fabrication drawings.
• Fit, assemble and weld components accurately.
• Measure, cut, grind and prepare materials for welding.
• Carry out repairs, modifications and general fabrication work.
• Inspect completed work to ensure quality standards are met.
• Use workshop tools and machinery safely.
• Maintain a clean and safe work area.
• Follow all workplace health and safety requirements.
