Job summary

Skills Group is seeking a Hairdressing Training Specialist to support work-based hairdressing learners across Dunedin and Southland. This contract role involves delivering training online and face-to-face, with travel to Southland about once a month.

You'll plan and deliver engaging sessions, support learners' progress, adapt materials, complete assessments, and track attendance while building strong industry relationships.

Qualifications

• NZ Certificate in Hairdressing Level 4 or equivalent.
• Strong technical hairdressing knowledge and industry experience.
• Excellent communication and coaching skills with engaging training style.
• Confidence using technology to support online learning and programme administration.
• Adult teaching qualifications and Unit Standard 4098, or willingness to obtain.
• Ability to deliver face-to-face training in Dunedin and travel to Southland monthly.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging hairdressing training online and face-to-face.
• Support learners with academic progress and development.
• Prepare and adapt teaching materials for different learners.
• Complete assessments, marking, feedback and reassessments on time.
• Track learner progress and attendance; maintain programme administration.
• Provide coaching and build industry relationships with learners and salons.
