Job summary

Ruawai College is seeking a compassionate Guidance Counsellor to support students across years 7–15. The role is permanent, part-time up to 0.4 FTE and working in a job-share with the existing counsellor.

You will help maintain a safe, inclusive environment, foster relationships with ākonga and whānau, and contribute to wider school life and activities while aligning with the team’s wellbeing priorities.

Qualifications

• Empathetic, relational and culturally connected approach to guidance.
• Experience in wellbeing, pastoral care or student support is desirable.
• Strong collaboration with families, kaiārahi and school staff.

Responsibilities

• Support tauira wellbeing and development in a safe, inclusive environment.
• Collaborate with the current counsellor and pastoral care team.
• Contribute to wider school life and co-curricular activities as needed.
