Ruawai College is seeking a compassionate Guidance Counsellor to support students across years 7–15. The role is permanent, part-time up to 0.4 FTE and working in a job-share with the existing counsellor.

You will help maintain a safe, inclusive environment, foster relationships with ākonga and whānau, and contribute to wider school life and activities while aligning with the team’s wellbeing priorities.

Qualifikationen

• Empathetic, relational and culturally connected approach to guidance.
• Experience in wellbeing, pastoral care or student support is desirable.
• Strong collaboration with families, kaiārahi and school staff.

Ruawai College seeks an empathetic, relational and culturally connected Guidance Counsellor for a permanent, part-time (up to 0.4 FTE) job-share position.

You will work alongside our existing counsellor and pastoral care team to support the wellbeing, development and success of our tauira in a safe, inclusive environment.

Nuts and bolts

• Permanent, part-time position: up to 0.4 FTE
• Job-share arrangement, working alongside our existing guidance counsellor.
• Commencement date to be negotiated.
• Specific working day and responsibilities to be negotiated with the successful applicant.
• Membership of NZAC or a similar professional body is an advantage.
• Support for professional development aligned with the position may be available.

Interviews may be held prior to the closing date, but an appointment will be made after that date.

Additional information

• Terms and conditions of employment, including salary, will be in accordance with the applicable collective agreement.
• Salary will be prorated to reflect the FTE loading of the position, with the actual salary determined by qualifications, experience and applicable salary assessment.
• This position is eligible for the Teacher Bonding Scheme (TBS) should the final FTE loading meet TBS criteria
