Whakaata Māori, New Zealand’s indigenous national broadcaster, is seeking a talented Graphics Designer to contribute to graphics services across news, content, social media, marketing and live broadcast. We are seeking a talented Graphics Designer to contribute to the smooth running of our graphics services across news, content, social media, marketing and live broadcast.
You’ll create bold, effective graphics that capture our audiences, maintain our brand across everything we make, and provide trusted creative and technical expertise to colleagues across the organisation.
This is a varied role with real range. Depending on your strengths and experience, your mahi could lean more towards design, live broadcast operation, or a combination of both.
This is a full-time position, based at our head office in East Tāmaki.
Design and produce high-quality graphics across news, digital, content and marketing.
Develop and maintain templates that support a strong and consistent Whakaata Māori brand.
Build and operate broadcast graphics for live and recorded shows, both in studio and on location.
Work with real-time graphics systems and contribute to major live events, including election coverage.
Collaborate with News, Content, Technical Services and Craft teams to deliver high-quality creative outcomes.
Support graphics services across a range of platforms and productions.
Maintain high design standards and ensure graphics are effective, accurate and fit for purpose.
Work flexibly across design and broadcast operations depending on team requirements and your strengths.
A background in creative graphic design, or experience in broadcast, media or graphics environments.
A strong eye for design and a commitment to high and current creative standards.
Confidence using design tools such as Adobe Creative Suite.
Experience with, or the ability to quickly learn, broadcast tools such as Ross Xpression, Ross Streamline, Cinema 4D and 3D Studio Max.
Clear, warm communication skills and the ability to work effectively across teams.
Flexibility and resilience, with the ability to remain calm and deliver to deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Willingness to work some live and after-hours shifts as required.
