Job summary

Stantec in Auckland is launching its 2026-2027 Graduate Programme for aspiring planners. Based in our Auckland office, you will join an established team of experienced planners and work with specialists from across Stantec on a diverse range of infrastructure and community projects.

The role introduces you to planning assessments, environmental reporting, and plan changes, with hands-on support from senior planners and mentors to develop practical, client-focused skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in planning or a related field.
• Graduating by December 2026.
• NZ citizen or permanent resident with the right to work in NZ.
• Driver's license preferred.

Responsibilities

• Research and prepare planning assessments and RMA documentation, including resource consents and environmental effects assessments.
• Assist with plan changes, submissions and plan reviews.
• Work with senior planners to provide practical, best-practice advice to clients and teams.
• Assist with community and stakeholder engagement related to planning projects.
• Support project lifecycle from due diligence to processing and decisions.
• Develop understanding of legislative reform and its implications for clients and communities.
• Develop practical project and client management skills while collaborating across disciplines.
