Job summary

Unite Recruit is seeking an experienced excavator operator for construction sites in New Zealand. You will operate excavators safely, coordinate with site managers, and ensure compliance with safety protocols while performing Final Trim, Benching and drainage tasks.

Requires WTR cert and Final Trim competence; Class 2 license is a plus. You will work independently or with a crew, and may use GPS systems such as Topcon/Trimble/Leica/Unicontrol. Ongoing contract rates are available.

Qualifications

• Must be competent with final trim.
• WTR (Wheels, Tracks and Rollers) certification required.
• Class 2 driver's license a bonus.
• Experience with Topcon, Trimble, Leica or Unicontrol.

Responsibilities

• Operate excavators safely and efficiently on construction sites.
• Work around utilities and other services, ensuring compliance with safety protocols.
• Conduct Final Trim, Benching & Drainage work.
• Efficiently utilize the GPS system.
• Perform routine maintenance checks on equipment.
• Collaborate with site managers and other team members to meet deadlines.
• Adhere to all safety regulations and practices.
