Job summary

HERO INTERNATIONAL LTD in Auckland seeks an Excavator Operator to join a well-established team. The role offers a minimum of 30 hours per week on a roster, performing excavation tasks and operating heavy machinery on site.

The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years of relevant experience or a NZQCF Level 4+ qualification, strong health and safety knowledge, and be physically fit. Applicants must have NZ residence or a valid NZ work visa.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years experience in excavation or NZQCF Level 4+ qualification.
• Strong knowledge of health and safety requirements.
• Ability to pass random drug and alcohol tests.
• Physically fit.
• NZ residence or valid NZ work visa required.

Responsibilities

• Operate excavators and other heavy machinery to perform excavation tasks.
• Read and interpret blueprints, site plans, and project instructions.
• Perform routine maintenance and safety checks on equipment.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies.
• Collaborate with site supervisors and other team members to meet project goals.
• Excavate and grade earth, rock, and other materials as required.
• Monitor equipment performance and report any issues to maintenance staff.
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment.

Suitable candidates should have:

• At least 3 years of relevant work experience in the same field or a relevant NZQCF level 4 qualification or above, may substitute for the work experience.
• Having good knowledge of Health and Safety Requirements.
• Be able to pass random drug and alcohol tests should need to be.
• Be physically fit.
