Job summary

NZ Transport Agency Waka Kotahi is seeking an experienced governance professional to lead end-to-end planning and coordination of Board and Committee activity. You will maintain governance systems, calendars, agendas and board papers, collaborating across the organisation to meet high standards and deadlines.

You will work closely with senior leaders, manage competing priorities and drive continuous improvement in governance practices, including smarter, simpler processes.

Qualifications

• Experience coordinating governance work programme and supporting a Board in a complex organisation.
• Strong understanding of governance processes, Board requirements and compliance obligations.
• Experience preparing, reviewing and coordinating high-quality Board and Committee documentation.
• Excellent records management with attention to detail.
• Confident with senior leaders and building trusted relationships.
• Ability to work through ambiguity and tight deadlines.
• Discretion handling sensitive information with professionalism.
• Process improvement mindset to simplify ways of working.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate Board calendars and agendas and produce board papers and packs.
• Support governance frameworks, systems and records across the organisation.
• Engage with stakeholders to meet governance deadlines and requirements.
• Foster strong, trusting relationships between Board, ELT and teams.
