Job summary

Archway Recruitment in New Zealand seeks a General Manager to lead day-to-day operations and performance across multiple offices. You will translate strategic priorities into action, drive continuity, and foster a high-performing culture with Directors. This is a pivotal role to support growth and operational excellence.

The role requires strong leadership, commercial acumen and a track record of improving processes, systems and people capability across a professional services environment.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in a General Manager or senior leadership role.
• Experience in legal, professional services, accounting, consulting, or service-based environments.
• Strong ability to translate strategy into action and drive performance.

Responsibilities

• Partner with Directors to support strategy execution and growth initiatives.
• Lead and mentor operational and administrative teams across locations.
• Monitor WIP, billing, recoveries, productivity and KPIs to improve performance.
• Provide reporting, insights and recommendations for decision making.
• Oversee people, recruitment, administration, technology, facilities and suppliers.
• Collaborate with HR, marketing and office teams to strengthen culture and ensure people practices.
• Ensure consistency and service excellence across all offices.
• Champion technology, automation and process improvements for scalability.
• Ensure risk management, compliance and governance across operations.
• Assist Directors to evaluate growth opportunities and align resources.
