Job summary

Tourism New Zealand in Wellington is seeking an enterprise leader to head the Corporate Services portfolio, guiding strategy, performance, people, finance, technology and data. Reporting to the Chief Executive, you will lead six direct reports and engage with the Board and senior government partners, delivering governance, assurance, and change initiatives, including AI adoption.

This role offers a broad leadership scope in a nationally important Crown entity with international reach and a focus

Qualifications

• Significant senior leadership experience, ideally 10+ years, with breadth to lead multiple corporate functions and contribute meaningfully at Executive and Board level.
• Strong strategic and commercial judgement across organisational strategy, planning, performance and risk.
• Experience operating in complex multi-stakeholder environments with governance, stakeholder engagement and relationship management.
• People-focused leadership style; develop capable leaders, empower teams, drive performance and build a resilient culture.

About The Opportunity

• Tourism New Zealand is a purpose-led Crown entity responsible for marketing New Zealand as a visitor destination, with a clear focus on delivering long-term benefits for Aotearoa.
• Reporting to the Chief Executive and operating as a key member of the Executive Team, you will lead a broad Corporate Services portfolio spanning strategy and performance, people, finance, technology and data, enterprise risk and corporate communications.
• You will lead six direct reports and a multidisciplinary team supporting Tourism New Zealand's global operations.
• This is a significant enterprise leadership role, providing clear advice, governance and assurance while uplifting organisational performance, efficiency, collaboration, and driving change initiatives forward — including the adoption of AI and digital tools.
• You will work closely with the Executive Team, Board and Audit and Risk Committee, while also leading engagement across relevant government agencies and ministerial stakeholders.
