Job summary

Lineage Logistics in Auckland seeks an experienced General Manager to oversee the Wiri site and a smaller operation in Kerepehi. You will lead safety, people and financial performance, while delivering exceptional customer relationships and strategic growth across a large team.

You will report to the Regional Director Operations - New Zealand and balance day-to-day operations with long-term commercial priorities in a fast-paced logistics environment.

Qualifications

• Experience leading a complex operational environment and a sizeable team.
• Experience in logistics, warehousing, transport, manufacturing or other operationally focused industries.

About the Role

As General Manager - Auckland, you will have overall leadership responsibility for the site, with a strong focus on safety, people leadership, operational performance, customer relationships and financial results.

Reporting to the Regional Director Operations - New Zealand, you will lead a team of approximately 45+ employees, creating a high-performing culture where people are supported to succeed and operational standards are consistently achieved. Based at our Wiri facility.

You will be a visible and hands-on leader who can balance the demands of day-to-day operations with longer-term commercial and strategic priorities.

Key responsibilities

• Lead a strong safety culture, ensuring health, safety and wellbeing remain at the heart of everything we do.


• Provide visible, positive and accountable leadership across the site, developing capability and building a high-performing team.


• Drive operational performance, productivity and continuous improvement across the operation.


• Build and maintain strong, trusted and commercially successful customer relationships.


• Identify opportunities to grow existing customer relationships and develop new business opportunities.


• Take ownership of site financial performance, including budgets, costs, forecasting and variance management.


• Ensure inventory accuracy, asset utilisation and maintenance standards are consistently maintained.


• Ensure the operation meets all Lineage policies, procedures and regulatory requirements.


• Work collaboratively with regional and functional leaders to deliver broader Lineage business objectives.

About You

You will be an experienced operational leader who combines strong people leadership with commercial acumen and a genuine commitment to safety.

You will ideally bring:

• Proven experience leading a complex operational environment and a sizeable team.


• Experience within logistics, warehousing, transport, manufacturing, food or another operationally focused industry.


• A strong understanding of health and safety and a commitment to creating a safe workplace.


• Demonstrated ability to lead, coach and develop people and build high-performing teams.


• Strong commercial and financial capability, with experience managing budgets, costs and operational performance.


• A customer-focused approach and the ability to build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.


• Strong organisational skills, sound judgement and the ability to manage competing priorities.


• A continuous improvement mindset and the confidence to identify and implement opportunities for better performance.


• The ability to operate effectively at both a strategic and hands‑on level.
