Job summary

Sims Limited seeks a Yard Operator / General Hand in Christchurch to work in our recycling yard, handling materials, operating a forklift, and supporting site operations. The role focuses on safe, efficient material movement, quality checks, and customer service within a fast-paced environment.

We provide training, overtime as eligible, and a supportive team culture focused on safety and waste reduction. A strong emphasis on reliability and teamwork is required.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload trucks, trailers, and bins safely and efficiently.

• Maintain high standards of housekeeping and site presentation.
• Follow all health, safety, environmental, and operational procedures.
• Identify and report hazards to contribute to a positive safety culture.
• Provide friendly and professional service to customers and suppliers.
• Support the wider team with general yard duties as required.

This is a great opportunity to work in an industry that plays a vital role in sustainability and resource recovery. You'll be involved in a variety of duties across the yard, helping to process recyclable materials, assist customers, and ensure the site operates safely and efficiently.

What You’ll Do
