Job summary

WM New Zealand at Redvale Landfill and Energy Park seeks a Generation Technician with mechanical or electrical experience to maintain generators and support gas-to-energy operations. You will work in a safety-first environment, performing inspections, monitoring the gas plant, reporting problems and reacting promptly to breakdowns to ensure high availability of power generation.

A valid Class 1 licence and hands-on experience with internal combustion engines are essential; electrical knowledge

Qualifications

• Certified Mechanic or equivalent trade experience.
• Valid Class 1 Driver’s Licence.
• Mechanical experience with internal combustion engines.
• Electrical knowledge is an advantage.
• Experience in breakdown work.
• Basic IT skills.

Responsibilities

• Ensuring generators are maintained to a high standard and available to run at all times for power generation.
• Inspection and monitoring gas plant, reporting problems found and reacting promptly to breakdowns.
• Balance gas flows to the plant within the Energy Park.
• Be an active participant in a safety-first culture.
