Job summary

Heights Recruitment in Christchurch is seeking a Generator Technician to join a small, skilled team. Generators, diesel motors and industrial equipment knowledge are essential, with strong fault-finding skills a plus.

You'll service, maintain and commission a range of modern generators, with some travel and yard-based work largely in north-west Christchurch. A NZ Electrical Registration and 3+ years’ experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• Current NZ Electrical Registration with 3+ years' experience.
• Strong electrical fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
• Good mechanical knowledge and practical, hands-on ability.
• Generator, diesel engine, motor or similar industrial equipment experience would be a big advantage.
• Someone who is reliable, gets stuck in and works well as part of a small team.

Responsibilities

• Servicing, maintenance, fault finding, repairs, installations and commissioning across a range of modern generators.
• High volume of motor servicing and repair work requiring strong mechanical knowledge.
• Based at yard in north-west Christchurch with wider coverage from Ashburton to the top of the South.
• Some travel involved (a couple of nights every few months).
