Summerset Retirement Villages in Nelson is seeking a skilled Gardener to join our team. You will maintain and enhance the grounds of our village, including planting, pruning, mowing, and hedge maintenance, to provide a welcoming outdoor space for residents and visitors.
This permanent, full-time role is 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 8:30 am to 4:00 pm. The successful candidate will be organised, physically fit and enjoy working as part of a friendly team.

We are looking for a skilled Gardener to join Summerset in the Sun. You'll play an important role in maintaining and enhancing the beautiful grounds of our Nelson village, from caring for plants, pruning, bedding and seasonal planting, through to lawn mowing, landscaping and hedge maintenance. You'll take pride in creating and maintaining attractive outdoor spaces for our residents and visitors to enjoy.
You’ll have a passion for gardening and grounds maintenance, an eye for detail, and take pride in keeping gardens and outdoor areas looking their best throughout the seasons.
This is a busy and diverse role, assisting the Property Manager with day-to-day garden maintenance activities. Therefore, you will need to be organised and efficient, while a good level of fitness will prove useful for delivering the best in service.
This is a permanent position, working 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday, from 8:30 am to 4:00 pm.
You’ll bring your love and deep knowledge of gardening along with some proven experience to our team. You’ll have a genuine passion for creating beautiful outdoor spaces and have a warm, friendly personality always happy to chat with our residents
You’ll be a team player who can also work independently, managing your time effectively. Being well-organised, efficient, and physically fit will help you thrive in this hands-on role.
