Āu Mahi | What You Will Do

Want to inspire the next generation of university students? Enjoy meeting people, building relationships and turning genuine interest into action? This is an opportunity to put your sales, presentation and relationship-building skills to work in a role where you can influence students’ decisions about their future.

Based in our co-working office space in Tāmaki Makaurau | Auckland, you will be part of the Future Students team, developing and delivering recruitment activity across your allocated markets, schools, regions and organisations. This role involves building meaningful connections with future students and key stakeholders, bringing the UC experience to life through engaging presentations and events, and using market insight and recruitment data to focus activity where it can have the greatest impact.

  • Drive recruitment and conversion against agreed targets, managing a portfolio and sales pipeline to turn student interest into applications, accepted offers and enrolments.
  • Build and nurture strong relationships with future students, parents, whānau, schools and other key stakeholders, guiding them through their journey towards UC.
  • Bring a consultative sales approach to conversations, understanding what matters to future students and confidently communicating the value of studying at UC.
  • Plan and deliver engaging presentations, school visits, events and other recruitment activities for diverse audiences.
  • Use CRM information, market trends, recruitment outcomes and feedback to identify opportunities, focus activity and strengthen future recruitment strategies.
  • Provide accurate and engaging advice on UC programmes, admission, entry and pathway requirements.
  • Work collaboratively across faculties and service areas to ensure UC is represented accurately, consistently and with pride.
  • Represent UC across Aotearoa, with domestic travel required as part of your recruitment and stakeholder activity.

You are a confident and outgoing relationship builder who enjoys being in front of people, creating connections and achieving results. You bring a genuine interest in helping future students make important decisions, combined with the commercial confidence to influence conversations, identify opportunities and turn interest into action.

Professionally confident and self-directed, you are comfortable working independently, managing your own portfolio and taking ownership of your priorities.

You will also be able to demonstrate:

  • 2-3 years’ experience in sales, marketing, recruitment, conversion, account management, advisory or another relevant relationship-focused environment. Experience in tertiary or secondary education, with an understanding of the sector, is desirable.
  • Strong presentation, communication and influencing skills, with confidence engaging diverse audiences.
  • A proven ability to build and maintain productive relationships and work effectively with people from different backgrounds.
  • A results-focused approach, with the resilience and persistence to follow opportunities through.
  • Experience using data, reporting and/or CRM systems to manage activity, identify trends and inform decisions.
  • A bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant qualification, the ability to travel within New Zealand and a full New Zealand driver licence.
  • An alignment with our organisation's values and culture, promoting a positive and inclusive work environment.

You must have Aotearoa New Zealand or Australian citizenship/permanent residency or hold a valid NZ work visa to be considered for this role.

You will join the Future Students team, working alongside colleagues across domestic and international student recruitment to build the profile and reputation of UC as an outstanding destination for study.

Based in our co-working space in Parnell, you will work closely with another Auckland-based Future Student Advisor, collaborating to deliver shared outcomes while remaining connected to the wider Future Students team.

The role connects you with a wide range of people across the University and beyond - from future students, parents and whānau to schools, faculties and service areas. Together, you will create positive recruitment experiences and ensure UC’s programmes, opportunities and student experience are represented with accuracy, enthusiasm and pride.
