Job summary

Environment Canterbury is seeking a Functional Lead to design, configure, test, and document key software, aligning with product roadmaps. You will lead the Dynamics 365 CRM configurations and collaborate with Architects and IT peers to deliver integrated solutions.

The role requires more than 4 years in software support and full-cycle implementations, with the ability to work across multiple technologies and mentor teammates. Flexibility in working arrangements is considered.

Qualifications

  • More than 4 years of software support experience with full-cycle implementations.
  • Ability to work across a range of technologies.
  • Experience configuring Dynamics 365 CRM is beneficial.
  • Experience with core D365 modules is beneficial.

Responsibilities

  • Lead design, configuration, testing and documentation of key software.
  • Work closely with Solution Architects and IT peers to align solutions to roadmaps.
  • Provide functional insight into core applications to design, build, test and implement new solutions.
  • Create and modify functional specs and related documentation.
  • Provide proactive support for incidents and offer risk assessments.
  • Work with cross-functional teams across multiple initiatives to provide expert input and advice.
  • Mentor other members of the functional team.

Council plays an important role in responding to national legislation and policy changes – this mahi is part of our operating environment and is embedded in our everyday mahi. The current proposals from central government are significant, and Council is working through the opportunities and implications. However, our mahi must continue to deliver our three core services for our partners, communities and te taiao (environment).

Kōrero mō te Tūranga | About the Role

Reporting to the Applications team leader and working with the Subject Matter Experts, you’ll lead the design, configuration, testing and documentation of our key software required to meet the business outcome. A key part of this role will be to work closely with the Solution Architects and our IT peers to align the solutions to the product roadmaps.

Mōu │ About You

As the Functional Lead, ideally, you’ll be tertiary qualified with an emphasis on Computer Science or Computer Engineering. Where you can demonstrate an appropriate level of knowledge and skills backed up by experience these will be considered in place of the tertiary qualification.

You’ll have more than 4 years of working experience in software support and involvement in full-cycle implementations as a preference. You'll have the ability to think about all aspects of software support and have a willingness to work across a range of technologies.

Mātau ā-Wheako | Experience
  • Experience in configuring/support Dynamics 365 CRM is beneficial
  • Experience/knowledge of the core D365 modules
  • Experience with and or exposure to Regulatory organisations and applications will be beneficial
  • Functional experience gained through implementation and support of complex solutions in a diverse organisation
  • System design experience (including process analysis, business requirement gathering, etc)
  • Have experience working in a team, with mentoring capability
