Job summary

The Zentera Wool Company in Canterbury seeks an FP&A Business Analyst on a 12-month fixed term maternity cover starting November 2026. You will support planning, budgeting, forecasting, reporting and data-driven decision making across the business.

Bring a Bachelor of Commerce, CA/CFA or similar, 5+ years in finance, advanced Excel and BI experience (Power BI, Qlik). You will develop financial models, dashboards and identify risks and opportunities to improve performance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Commerce (or equivalent) required.
• CA, CFA or similar professional qualification preferred.
• 5+ years in accounting, FP&A or related finance role.
• Advanced Excel and financial modelling expertise.
• Experience with databases and BI tools (Power BI, Qlik).
• Analytical thinker with attention to detail and ability to translate complex information into practical insights.
• Collaborative, proactive and results-driven approach.

Responsibilities

• Deliver financial analysis, modelling and insights to support decision-making.
• Support budgeting, forecasting and re-projection activities.
• Prepare leadership dashboards and performance reporting.
• Identify and communicate key risks, opportunities, trends and variances.
• Develop and maintain financial models, reporting tools and BI outputs.
• Support finance and data improvement initiatives to enhance performance.

With our sights set on the future, we’re looking for an experienced FP&A Business Analyst to join our team on a 12-month fixed term maternity leave cover contract to help us deliver our strategy and be the world’s number one supplier of premium wool.

Description:

The Role

Do you have a background in financial planning and analysis, financial modelling, and the ability to turn complex data into meaningful business insights? Then look no further for a role where you can have a real impact.

As the FP&A Business Analyst, you'll play a key role in supporting financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and data-driven decision making across the business.

• Deliver financial analysis, modelling and insights that support business decision-making.
• Support budgeting, forecasting and re-projection activities across the business.
• Prepare leadership dashboards and performance reporting.
• Identify and communicate key risks, opportunities, trends and financial variances.
• Develop and maintain financial models, reporting tools and business intelligence outputs.
• Support finance and data improvement initiatives that enhance business performance

This is a 12-month fixed term parental leave cover contract starting November 2026 until November 2027.

Skills and Experiences:

• A Bachelor of Commerce (or equivalent) qualification
• CA, CFA or similar professional qualification
• 5+ years' experience in accounting, financial planning and analysis, or a related finance role
• Advanced Excel and financial modelling expertise
• Experience working with databases and business intelligence tools
• Exposure to reporting and visualisation platforms such as Power BI, Qlik or similar
• Strong analytical thinking skills, attention to detail and the ability to translate complex information into practical business insights
• A collaborative, proactive and results-focused approach.
