Job summary

Tradestaff in Hamilton is seeking an experienced Forklift/Baler Operator for a busy cardboard operation. This afternoon shift role combines forklift operation, baling, loading and general factory duties on-site at Hamilton Airport. Immediate start to join a productive team.

You’ll need a valid OSH forklift certificate, prior forklift experience, and the ability to pass a pre-employment drug test and MOJ check. The role offers a supportive team and chances to build skills in a dynamic environment.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Operate a forklift to move cardboard, pallets, finished products and other materials.
• Safely load and unload trucks and move completed bales to storage or dispatch areas.
• Feed approved cardboard into the baler and operate the machine to produce secure bales.
• Sort cardboard and remove unsuitable or contaminated materials before processing.
• Complete forklift and baler pre-start checks, monitor equipment and report faults.
• Keep baling, warehouse and loading areas clean, organised and safe.
• Follow traffic management, machine safety and lockout/tagout procedures while assisting with general factory duties as required.

We’re looking for an experienced Forklift/Baler Operator to join a busy cardboard operation in Hamilton. This is a hands‑on afternoon shift role combining forklift operation, baling, loading and general factory duties. If you’re safety‑focused, reliable and comfortable working around machinery, we want to hear from you.

About the role

You’ll be responsible for safely moving materials around the site and operating baling equipment as part of the production process.

Responsibilities

• Operate a forklift to move cardboard, pallets, finished products and other materials.
• Safely load and unload trucks and move completed bales to storage or dispatch areas.
• Feed approved cardboard into the baler and operate the machine to produce secure bales.
• Sort cardboard and remove unsuitable or contaminated materials before processing.
• Complete forklift and baler pre‑start checks, monitor equipment and report faults.
• Keep baling, warehouse and loading areas clean, organised and safe.
• Follow traffic management, machine safety and lockout/tagout procedures while assisting with general factory duties as required.

Hours

• Monday to Friday afternoon shift.
• Start at 3:30pm and finish around 1:30am.
• Approximately 9–10 hour shifts.

What we’re looking for

• Valid OSH forklift certificate.
• Previous forklift experience and confidence operating in a busy environment.
• Comfortable operating machinery and completing physical, hands‑on work.
• Able to pass a pre‑employment drug test.
• Clean Ministry of Justice (MOJ) check.
• Strong awareness of workplace health and safety.
• Reliable with a good work ethic.
