Job summary

Align International Recruitment Ltd. invites psychiatrists to consider a Forensic Psychiatry opportunity in Christchurch, New Zealand. The role involves inpatient care across several units, including a prison clinic and rehab settings, with a flexible length of stay chosen by you.

You will join a team of 6.5 psychiatrists, participate in on-call duties, and prepare court reports within regular hours. NZ registration (MCNZ) support is provided by the employer.

Qualifications

• Board-certified psychiatrist in NZ with MCNZ registration.
• Interest and training in forensic psychiatry is required.
• Experience in inpatient settings and multidisciplinary teams is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide psychiatric care in inpatient units including acute and rehab settings.
• Prepare and deliver court reports as part of the role.
• Join a 6.5 FTE psychiatry team with on-call roster including weekends.
• Travel limited to regional consultations and occasional outside Christchurch.
