Job summary

HR Genie is seeking a Laboratory Technician to conduct microbiological and analytical testing of raw materials and finished products in a food safety and quality environment.

The role supports production standards and requires handling SOPs, calibration of equipment, and adherence to health, safety and quality programmes. Relevant science qualifications and lab experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 with science subjects required.
• BSc in Microbiology, Biotech Diploma or BTech Food Technology required.
• 1 year product testing in FMCG desirable.
• 1 year laboratory experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conduct microbiological and analytical testing on materials and products.
• Communicate results to team leaders and QC manager.
• Calibrate and verify equipment daily.
• Ensure compliance with safety and HACCP/FSCC standards.
• Plan work, manage reagents, and dispose waste safely.
• Support health, safety, and quality programmes.
