Novotel Queenstown Lakeside in Queenstown is seeking a customer-focused Food & Beverage Assistant to deliver friendly service across restaurant and bar operations. You will greet guests, take orders, and ensure timely, quality presentation while coordinating with kitchen and bar teams.

Role emphasises upselling, accurate billing, and maintaining hygiene and safety. Shifts include weekends/public holidays; accommodation and benefits available for staff participation in Accor Heartist program.

Formación

• At least 2 years of relevant experience in food and beverage service within hospitality.
• Experience providing high-quality, guest-facing service in busy settings.
• Knowledge of beverages including beer, wine, spirits and cocktails.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Guest-focused with attention to detail and a professional attitude.
• Good organisation and ability to manage competing priorities during busy service.
• Commitment to food safety, workplace health and safety, hygiene and responsible service of alcohol.
• Flexibility to work a rotating roster, including weekends and public holidays.

Responsabilidades

• Provide friendly, efficient F&B service in accordance with hotel standards.
• Welcome guests, take orders accurately, serve food and beverages, and ensure timely delivery and presentation.
• Coordinate with kitchen and bar teams to support smooth service and minimise delays.
• Assist with accurate billing, payment processing and reconciliation of shift transactions.
• Provide guidance and day-to-day support to Food & Beverage team members during service.
• Assist with team briefings, new-starter induction and maintaining consistent service standards.
• Encourage upselling and promote hotel offers, products and services.
• Assist with stock control, stocktakes, equipment care and reporting breakages.
• Maintain restaurant and bar cleanliness, hygiene and responsible service of alcohol standards.
• Respond professionally to guest requests and escalate operational concerns.
• Follow hotel policies, health and safety requirements, and all procedures.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience providing high-quality, guest-facing service in a busy hospitality setting.
• Good knowledge of beverages, including beer, wine, spirits and cocktails.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with people from diverse backgrounds.
• A guest-focused approach, attention to detail and a positive, professional attitude.
• Good organisation skills and the ability to manage competing priorities during busy service periods.
• A commitment to food safety, workplace health and safety, hygiene and responsible service of alcohol.
• Flexibility to work a rotating roster, including weekends and public holidays.
