Job summary

Kamana Lakehouse in Queenstown is seeking a passionate Food & Beverage Attendant. You will deliver exceptional service across the restaurant, bar and lounge, take orders, explain dishes and build rapport with guests.

To succeed, you should have fluent English, a genuine passion for guest experiences and flexibility to work weekends and evenings. We offer ongoing training, dining discounts, and career growth within our fast‑growing hotel brand.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year relevant work experience or NZQF Level 2/3 qualification or AQF Certificate II/III.
• Fluent English essential; additional languages advantageous.
• Excellent customer service and problem-solving abilities.
• Minimum six months of experience in the food and beverage industry.
• Strong knowledge of restaurant operations, events management, bar service.
• Well-presented, organized, and calm personality.
• Ability to work well under pressure and as part of a team.
• Flexibility to work weekends and evenings.
• Genuine passion for enhancing dining guest experiences.

Responsibilities

• Manage guest queries and feedback professionally while building rapport with guests.
• Be comfortable with a la carte menus and taking orders.
• Explain menu dishes to guests and provide recommendations.
• Build strong relationships and liaise with other departments, especially kitchen.
• Allocate tables to arrivals after considering guests' preferences and requests.
• Maintain high standards of presentation, cleanliness, and efficiency.

What will my day look like as a Food & Beverage Attendant?

• Deliver exceptional service across the restaurant, bar, and lounge areas
• Manage guest queries and feedback genuinely and professionally while you are building a rapport with guests - our style of service is professional but friendly
• Be comfortable with a la carte menus and taking orders
• Explain menu dishes to guests and provide recommendations for dishes/drinks
• Build strong relationships and liaise with all other department's especially kitchen
• Allocate tables to expected arrivals after checking the guests’ preferences and special requests
• Maintain high standards of presentation, cleanliness, and efficiency

In your new role, you will be working on behalf of our guests and working with other team members. To be successful in this role, you should maintain the attitude, behaviors, skills, and values that follow:
