Job summary

SYOS Aerospace is seeking a Flight Test Engineer to drive the success of our aircraft development program in Mount Maunganui, New Zealand. In this hands-on role, you'll collaborate with the Flight Operations team to ensure regulatory compliance and safety during flight tests.

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant engineering field and 2–4+ years’ experience in UAS operations or flight testing.

Qualifications

• 2–4+ years in UAS operations, flight test, or related aerospace field.
• Experience working alongside flight operations teams during various flight operations.
• Proven experience undertaking trials with fixed wing and multi‑rotor platforms.

Responsibilities

• Develop regulatory documentation, including SORA.
• Configure UAS hardware, software, and payloads for trials.
• Manage trial activity, including planning, logistics, and flight safety.
• Collect and analyze post‑flight data to verify performance.
• Coordinate logistics for airspace permissions and flight authorizations.
