Job summary

SYOS Aerospace is seeking a Flight Test Engineer to support the flight test program and aircraft development. The role works with the Flight Operations Manager to secure approvals, plan tests, and oversee trial execution, with emphasis on safety and regulatory compliance.

The ideal candidate has a background in aerospace engineering and 2–4+ years of UAS operations experience, including fixed-wing and multi-rotor platforms up to Group 4 UAS, in a fast-moving tech environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Aerospace/Mechanical/Mechatronics or Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience.
• 2–4+ years in UAS operations, flight test, engineering trials, systems integration, defence, or related aerospace field.
• Experience working with VLOS, EVLOS, and BVLOS operations.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with Flight Operations to secure regulatory approvals and plan test activities.
• Configure UAS hardware, software, and mission payloads for trials.
• Oversee trial planning, logistics and flight safety, and document post-flight results.
