Job summary

Wellington City Council seeks a Communications Advisor to join our City Projects Communications team. You’ll contribute to strategic communications plans, influence cross-Council initiatives, and help tell the stories that demonstrate how Wellington is a resilient, thriving city.

You’ll collaborate with content creators, social media specialists and our brand team, drawing on colleagues’ skills to grow your own expertise while supporting Council priorities and te reo Māori commitments.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in a comms team or a similar environment.
• Proactive mindset with a self-starter approach.
• Excellent writer capable of drafting lively, plain English copy.
• Strong relationship builder across an organisation with influencing skills.
• Strategic thinker who sees the big picture and proposes clever solutions.
• Resilience to persevere when projects get challenging.
• Commitment to te ao Māori and te reo Māori and supporting the Strategy.
• Glass-half-full attitude and collaborative team player.
