Job summary

ACCIONA in New Zealand is seeking a Design Manager to oversee the development and delivery of concept designs for a major transport project. You will manage design scope, budget and program, coordinate with consultants, and ensure compliance with safety, constructability, and quality goals.

Reporting to the Senior Engineering Manager, you will secure design approvals from clients and authorities, drive value engineering, manage interfaces between ACCIONA and design teams, and lead

Qualifications

• Degree in Engineering, Architecture or Construction Management.
• Experience delivering complex design-and-construct (D&C) projects.
• Track record managing multidisciplinary design teams.
• Strong understanding of design management and construction methods.
• Skilled communicator across stakeholder and consultant groups.

Responsibilities

• Direct development and delivery of concept designs
• Control design scope, budget and program
• Manage consultant agreements and commercial performance
• Identify design gaps and risks, and elevate to stakeholders
• Coordinate design changes and resource allocation
• Engage clients and authorities to secure design approvals
