Job summary

Team Global Express is seeking an experienced Class 5 truck driver to join our operations in New Zealand. This floating role covers routes around the country and requires you to manage heavy loads while complying with weight and road regulations.

We offer a minimum of 30 hours per week, weekend work, and an accommodation allowance. You must have a clean Class 5 license (NZ or overseas) and be willing to stay away from home when required.

Qualifications

• Clean Class 5 license (NZ or Overseas).
• At least one year work experience.
• Dangerous Goods endorsement preferred.
• Must be available to work weekends.
• Must pass drug and alcohol tests.
• Follow road code and traffic guidelines.
• Stay away from home for a few days/weeks when required.

Responsibilities

• Transport heavy loads while complying with weight/height restrictions for bridges and tunnels.
• Perform routine vehicle inspections and coordinate maintenance.
• Collaborate with dispatchers to determine daily mileage and timely deliveries.
• Keep accurate records of transported materials, including weight limits and hazardous goods.
• Weigh the truck before and after loading to ensure weight compliance.
• Secure cargo properly to prevent damage or loss during transit.
• Read maps and follow the most efficient route.
• Report any incidents and vehicle issues.
