Job summary

Waste Management New Zealand is seeking a organised, people-focused talent coordinator on a fixed-term contract until October 2027. You will support the Talent team with end-to-end recruitment processes and run programmes to connect students and early-career talent with WM opportunities.

You’ll manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment, build strong relationships, and contribute to university and school engagement activities.

• Strong organisation and time-management skills.
• Ability to build trusted relationships across diverse backgrounds.

Responsibilities

• Provide end-to-end recruitment support to the Talent team (pre-employment checks, psychometric assessments, contracts).
• Support candidate sourcing, CV screening and initial phone interviews.
• Maintain talent pools for recurring and business-critical roles.
• Assist with recruitment activity through SmartRecruiters.
• Manage queries via the shared recruitment inbox for candidates and hiring managers.
• Identify opportunities to improve candidate and early-career experience.
• Support university, polytechnic and school engagement activities and events.
