Job summary

Active Explorers Hokitika, part of Evolve Education Group, invites a Kaiako Certificated to join a warm, supportive team. The fixed-term role runs November 2026 to July 2027, for 32 hours per week, with opportunities to contribute ideas, plan programmes, and celebrate everyday wins in a nurturing learning environment.

You’ll be ECE-qualified with current registration, passionate about tamariki development, and adept at building strong relationships with children and whānau in a play-based

We care for children aged 3 months to 6 years, and every day brings something new to discover. From creative adventures to outdoor exploration, we love creating opportunities for tamariki to learn, grow, build friendships, and let their personalities shine.

Our team is a friendly bunch who love sharing ideas, helping each other out, and celebrating the little wins along the way. We believe that when our kaiako feel supported and valued, amazing things happen! As an Enviroschools centre, we also love getting outdoors, getting our hands dirty, and helping tamariki develop a love for the natural world around them.
