The Social Investment Agency, part of the New Zealand Government, is seeking an Assistant Accountant in Wellington to support budgeting, financial reporting and monthly close. You will work closely with the CFO and finance team, assisting with reconciliations, accruals and Treasury reporting while helping improve systems and processes across the agency.

This fixed-term role offers exposure to a broad range of finance activities in a growing central government agency.

Formación

• Sound understanding of accounting principles and financial processes.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
• Ability to explain financial information clearly and build relationships with non-financial colleagues.

Responsabilidades

• Support budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis and monthly reporting.
• Prepare reconciliations, journals, accruals and information for Treasury reporting.
• Collaborate with budget managers to explain financial information and delegations.
• Support financial controls, policies and process improvements.
