About the Role

Our client, a leading entity in the Banking & Finance sector, is seeking an experienced Financial Controller to oversee group financial reporting in Queenstown, Eastern Cape. This senior role is responsible for ensuring the accuracy, timeliness, and compliance of all group financial statements and reporting activities. You will manage a team of finance professionals, drive process improvements, and provide critical financial insights to senior management. The position requires a strong understanding of IFRS, excellent leadership skills, and a proven ability to manage complex financial operations. Operating in a hybrid model, you will contribute to robust financial governance through a blend of in-office collaboration and remote work. Key Responsibilities

• Oversee the preparation and consolidation of group financial statements in accordance with IFRS.
• Manage the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closing processes.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant accounting standards, regulations, and tax laws.

Requirements

• Qualified Chartered Accountant (CA) or equivalent professional accounting designation.

• Extensive knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
• Proven experience in managing financial close processes and group consolidations.
• Strong leadership and team management skills.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and strategic thinking abilities.
• Proficiency in financial ERP systems and advanced MS Excel skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively at all levels.
• Experience with hybrid work environments and strong self-management skills.
