Job summary

Allevia Radiology in Auckland is seeking an experienced Chartered Accountant to lead a proactive finance team and drive strategic financial and operational goals. Based at Newmarket/Epsom, the role covers financial integrity, statutory compliance, and a robust control environment across the group.

You will partner with senior leadership, oversee budgeting, forecasting, tax filings, and reports, while building a high-performing finance team.

Qualifications

• Essential Chartered Accountant (CA) qualification and registration.
• 5+ years’ post-qualification experience with people leadership.
• Strong technical accounting capability in a senior finance role.
• Experience with budgeting, forecasting, and tax compliance.
• Proficiency in Excel; PowerBI preferred.

Responsibilities

• Own the financial reporting, statutory and tax compliance, and the internal control framework for the Board and leadership team.
• Lead the preparation of operating budgets and financial forecast in collaboration with SLT.
• Proactively lead the finance team to deliver on accounting and accounts payable functions with effective risk management operating controls for Allevia Radiology and its subsidiaries.
• Partner with the business at senior leadership team (SLT) to provide SME around investment decisions.
• Oversee tax compliance and filings to meet IRD and group compliance requirements.
• Provide people and financial leadership to build a high functioning finance team.

About The Role

We are seeking an experienced Chartered Accountant registered Finance Manager to lead a proactive finance team to support the achievement of strategic, financial and operational goals. This is a permanent full-time (1.0 FTE) position, based at Newmarket/Epsom.

Reporting to the Allevia Health Finance Director, you will be responsible for the financial integrity, statutory compliance and control environment of Allevia Radiology and its subsidiaries.

This is a complex role that requires an effective communicator who is adaptable and responsive to a changing environment. You will role-model calm, positive, and solutions-focused leadership, building confidence across the team and with all stakeholders. You will know when to focus on the detail, while also providing clear, accurate, and confident reporting and tax returns.

Your Focus Will Be

• Own the financial reporting, statutory and tax compliance, and the internal control framework for the Board and leadership team.
• Lead the preparation of operating budgets and financial forecast in collaboration with SLT.
• Proactively lead the finance team to deliver on accounting and accounts payable functions with effective risk management operating controls for Allevia Radiology and its subsidiaries.
• Partner with the business at senior leadership team (SLT) to provide subject matter expertise (SME) around investment decisions.
• Oversee tax compliance and filings to meet IRD and group compliance requirements.
• Provide people and financial leadership to build a high functioning finance team.

Our Ideal Candidate Will Have

• Essential Chartered Accountant (CA) qualification and registration.
• Strong technical accounting capability, with experience in a senior finance role.
• Essential 5+ years’ post-qualification experience with people leadership experience.
• Proven commercial acumen and effective business partnership to drive performance.
• Ability to learn and adapt to different accounting and reporting systems, coupled with strong and tested skills in Microsoft Excel and related office software suites.
• Experience in PowerBI is preferred but not essential.
• Strategic and analytical thinker, with the ability to connect financial results.
• Ability to influence and collaborate with executives, auditors and advisors to resolve complex issues.
• Desired consolidation experience of subsidiaries and prior experience in the health sector.
