Job summary

New Zealand Post – East Tamaki in the North Island is seeking a Head of Finance to lead a team of Finance Business Advisors and deliver strategic financial insight across CSD & D&T. You will translate data into business recommendations to support decision-making and strategic objectives.

You will partner with General Managers and senior leaders, drive budgeting, forecasting, and planning, and lead cost efficiency initiatives in a large, complex organisation.

Qualifications

• Recognised accounting qualification (CA or equivalent).
• Significant experience in finance business partnering or commercial finance.
• Proven success leading teams of Finance Business Partners or similar.
• Extensive budgeting, forecasting, planning and performance management.
• Strong management reporting and financial performance reporting.
• Excellent stakeholder management at GM and Executive level.

Responsibilities

• Leading, coaching, and developing a team of Finance Business Partners.
• Partnering with General Managers and senior leaders to drive financial and operational performance.
• Providing strategic financial advice that supports business planning and investment decisions.
• Leading annual budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial planning processes.
• Driving cost efficiency and value-for-money initiatives across the organisation.
• Overseeing management reporting and financial performance reporting frameworks.
• Delivering insightful analysis on financial results, trends, risks, and opportunities.
• Building strong stakeholder relationships across executive and leadership teams.
• Promoting a culture of continuous improvement and commercial thinking within the finance function.
