Job summary

Summerset Retirement Villages is seeking a Finance Business Partner - Development Finance to support a portfolio of development and construction projects in Wellington (open to Auckland). The role partners with senior stakeholders, leads budgeting and forecasting, and delivers commercial insights to drive investment outcomes.

You will develop financial models, business cases and contribute to governance, shaping decisions and strengthening financial discipline across projects.

Qualifications

• CA ANZ or CPA qualified, or working towards completion.
• Experience in management accounting, commercial finance or business partnering roles.
• Exposure to construction, property, infrastructure, development or other project-based environments is highly desirable.
• Strong financial modelling, budgeting and forecasting capability.
• Proven ability to build credibility and influence stakeholders across operational and leadership teams.
• Strong commercial judgement with the confidence to provide constructive challenge and recommendations.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to translate financial information into practical business insights.

Are you a commercially minded finance professional who enjoys influencing decisions, partnering with senior stakeholders and seeing the tangible impact of your work?

As our Finance Business Partner - Development Finance, you'll play a key role in supporting a portfolio of development and construction projects, providing financial insight, commercial guidance and strategic decision support that helps drive successful investment outcomes.

Working closely with Development and Construction leaders, you'll act as a trusted advisor, helping shape business decisions and supporting the financial performance of significant capital projects. You'll lead budgeting, forecasting and performance reporting, develop financial models and business cases, provide commercial insights and recommendations, and contribute to investment decisions and project governance. You'll also identify risks and opportunities, drive continuous improvement, and help strengthen financial discipline across projects.

This is a true business partnering opportunity where you'll move beyond traditional reporting to provide commercial challenge, influence key decisions and contribute to major investment outcomes.

Location: Wellington preferred, open to Auckland-based candidates.
