• Agribusiness experience would be helpful but not essential.

Finance Role With Real Commercial Influence

Bring clarity, curiosity and commercial insight to a business grounded in farming, people and purpose.

The Opportunity

It's not often you find a Wellington-based finance role with this mix of commercial operations, senior leadership exposure and real connection to the business. You'll report directly to the Chief Financial Officer and work alongside leaders who manage a diverse asset portfolio across farming, and forestry, including significant capital investment and commercial decision-making.

Pāmu is well into an established turnaround plan, with a clear focus on lifting performance and delivering stronger returns. In this role, you'll help turn financial and operational information into practical insights that support better decisions across the business.

This is not a traditional accounting role. It's about financial management, commercial thinking and trusted partnership. You'll work closely with General Managers and operational teams to understand what is driving performance, support business cases, explore commercial opportunities, and help the business plan, forecast and respond to change.

You'll bring a financial lens to real business questions, from capital investment and productivity improvements through to understanding the commercial impact of unexpected operational events. Your work will help give leaders clarity, confidence and options as they make decisions in a sector that plays an important role in New Zealand's economy.

The role is based in Wellington, with flexible working available. We value time together for the moments that matter, while also supporting working from home where it works for the role and the team.

About You

You'll enjoy working with people as much as you enjoy working with numbers. You may come from finance business partnering, consulting, commercial finance or a similar role where you've helped leaders understand the story behind the numbers and make confident decisions.

You'll be curious, practical and comfortable asking good questions to get to the heart of what is driving performance. You'll be able to explain financial information clearly, build trusted relationships, and bring a thoughtful commercial lens to complex business decisions.

You don't need to meet every point to be considered. Some of the experience that would help you succeed includes:

• A tertiary qualification in accounting, finance or a related discipline; a CA qualification would be helpful.
• Experience in financial modelling, budgeting, forecasting, business cases or investment analysis.
• The ability to interpret financial and non-financial information and turn analysis into clear, practical advice.
• A relationship-led approach, with the confidence to work alongside senior leaders and become a trusted partner to the business.
• Agribusiness experience would be helpful, but it is not essential.
