Job summary

Pacific Health Group is seeking a skilled Finance Business Partner to influence decision-making across a broad healthcare portfolio in New Zealand. You’ll partner with operational leaders, challenge thinking, and drive commercial performance with insightful analysis.

Reporting to the Commercial Finance Manager, you’ll shape strategy, embed commercial thinking, and deliver actionable financial storytelling across the organisation.

Qualifications

• 3-5+ years in a Finance Business Partnering or commercial finance role post-qualification (CA or CPA).
• Strong commercial acumen and ability to translate financial insights into business decisions.
• Experience partnering with senior leaders across a complex organisation.

Responsibilities

• Lead budgeting, forecasting and financial planning across a diverse portfolio.
• Deliver meaningful performance insights, reporting and variance analysis to drive action.
• Identify trends, risks and opportunities and provide commercially focused recommendations.
• Support business cases, investment decisions and scenario modelling; influence decision-making with stakeholders.

The Role

Reporting to the Commercial Finance Manager, you'll be a trusted advisor to leaders across the business, helping them make informed decisions and achieve strong operational and financial outcomes. This is much more than reporting numbers. You'll play a key role in shaping strategy, improving performance, and embedding commercial thinking throughout the organisation.

You'll Be Responsible For

• Partnering with operational stakeholders to lead budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities
• Delivering meaningful performance insights, reporting, and variance analysis that drive action
• Identifying trends, risks, and opportunities, and providing commercially focused recommendations
• Supporting business cases, investment decisions, and scenario modellingInfluencing decision-making through strong stakeholder engagement and financial storytellingBuilding financial capability and accountability across operational teamsContributing to reporting enhancements, dashboards, KPIs, and continuous improvement initiatives

You're a commercially minded finance professional who enjoys working alongside people as much as working with numbers. You know how to build credibility, ask the right questions, and confidently challenge stakeholders to achieve better outcomes. We're Looking For

• 3-5+ years' experience in a Finance Business Partnering or commercial finance role post-qualification (CA or CPA)
• Strong commercial acumen and a proven ability to translate financial insights into business decisions
• Experience partnering with senior leaders and operational stakeholders across a complex organisation
• Excellent communication, influencing, and relationship-building skills
• Exposure to multi-entity or geographically dispersed businesses
• Advanced Excel skills and experience with financial planning and reporting systems (e.g. Sage Intacct, Workday Adaptive Planning, or similar)
• Experience developing or working with Power BI reporting
• Healthcare industry experience is advantageous, but not essential
