Job summary

University of Otago in Christchurch is seeking a Finance Associate to support sound financial decision-making across the University by providing expert financial advice and day-to-day financial support to executives and managers.

In this role, you will work within the central Finance Advisory team, partner with stakeholders to understand business needs, and contribute to budgeting, forecasting and financial modelling. A tertiary qualification in accounting or finance is required.

Qualifications

• Relevant tertiary qualification in accounting, finance, or related discipline.
• Significant experience in finance advisory or management accounting.
• Strong knowledge of financial management principles, controls and reporting.
• Excellent Excel skills and financial modelling.
• Strong communication and relationship-building with stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Provide expert financial advice and day-to-day financial support to executives and managers.
• Contribute to month-end accounting, reporting, forecasting and budgeting.
• Develop insights and commentary to support strategic decision-making.
• Collaborate across portfolios at Christchurch campus within Te Papa Hauora.
