Job summary

Fulton Hogan in Central Otago is seeking a permanent, full-time Final Trim Grader Foreperson to lead on-site crews and operate grader equipment for precise final trim and finishing works across pavement projects.

You will coordinate plant, labour and subcontractors, mentor operators, and ensure delivery to programme while upholding health, safety, environmental and quality standards. Strong GPS/machine-control experience is preferred and you will lead from the front to build capability.

Qualifications

• Proven experience operating graders in civil construction.
• Extensive final trim and GPS machine control experience.
• Experience leading crews as Foreperson or Senior Operator.
• Strong earthworks, pavements, civil construction knowledge.
• Ability to read plans and coordinate daily activities.
• Commitment to health, safety, environment and quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Lead site crews to deliver construction activities to programme.
• Operate grader to achieve final trim and surface requirements.
• Use GPS and machine control to achieve accurate levels.
• Plan daily activities and allocate resources.
• Conduct pre-start meetings and promote safety culture.
• Work with Supervisors, Engineers and Project Managers.
• Monitor productivity and workmanship standards.
• Mentor operators and crew members.
• Complete site documentation, inspections and reporting.
