Job summary

Fletcher Construction is seeking a Field Technician Coordinator to support Te Wai Takamori o Te Awa Kairangi with field testing coordination, scheduling, and reporting. You will work with field technicians, laboratories, and the quality team to ensure accurate testing and safe practices on site.

Ideal candidates will have a civil construction qualification and experience in materials testing within civil projects or lab environments, with strong planning and teamwork skills to keep multiple

Responsibilities

Are you ready to make a significant impact on a transformative project? Fletcher Construction is seeking a talented and innovative Field Technician Coordinator to join our team for Te Wai Takamori o Te Awa Kairangi (Te Awa Kairangi).

About the Role

As a Field Technician Coordinator, you'll coordinate with field technicians, laboratories, and the quality team, while also rolling up your sleeves to undertake field and non-destructive testing when required. It's a hands-on position for someone who enjoys technical work, solving problems, and keeping multiple moving parts on track.

• Coordinate field testing resources to support construction programmes and project delivery.
• Manage testing schedules, sample tracking, and reporting with external laboratories and specialist providers.
• Review test results and documentation to ensure accuracy, quality, and traceability.
• Undertake field testing and non-destructive testing activities as required.
• Maintain compliance with testing standards, specifications, and quality requirements.
• Support technicians through technical guidance, coaching, and safe work practices.

What You'll Bring to the Role

• A qualification in civil construction, laboratory sciences, or a related field.
• Experience carrying out materials testing independently within a civil construction, infrastructure, or laboratory environment.
• Strong understanding of testing methodologies, quality processes, and technical procedures.
• Excellent planning and coordination skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities.
• A keen eye for detail and the confidence to make sound technical decisions.
• A collaborative approach and a genuine commitment to safety, quality, and supporting others.

Te Awa Kairangi Alliance is delivering transport, walking and cycling improvements to the SH2 Melling interchange and rail station, as part of a wider flood protection and city revitalisation programme. Fletcher Construction is working with Alliance partners AECOM, NZTA, Taranaki Whānui and Ngāti Toa Rangatira to deliver this transformative project.
