Job summary

Philips is seeking a Customer Support Engineer NZ based in Wellington to cover multiple imaging modalities, providing expert technical support, maintenance, installation and upgrades of medical imaging equipment.

You will work with healthcare teams, manage escalations, and contribute to service delivery while meeting regulatory requirements. A NZ driver’s licence and ability to work legally in NZ are required, with on-call hours as needed.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualifications in Electronics, Electrical or Biomedical Engineering, or equivalent experience from engineering/service roles in Communications Electronics, RADAR, Instrumentation or Avionics.
• Previous customer-facing service engineering experience in medical/biomedical industry is preferred.
• Strong IT skills and ability to work in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment.
• Ideally hold a current Restricted Electrical Licence.
• Have a full New Zealand driver’s licence and legal right to work in New Zealand.

Responsibilities

• Provide maintenance, installation, commissioning and software/hardware upgrades for medical imaging equipment across modalities.
• Deliver expert technical support, troubleshoot, and manage escalations to resolution with stakeholders.
• Collaborate with the wider Philips team to ensure exceptional service and customer satisfaction.
• Be available for on-call support and occasional hours beyond standard business hours as needed.

As the Customer Support Engineer NZ , you will have the opportunity to cover multiple modalities across Philips portfolios, including Medical Imaging MRI, CT, DXR, IGT and Ultrasound portfolios.This is a critical customer-facing role with responsibilities of maintaining and developing robust customer relationships and providing expert technical advice on maintenance, installation, and servicing of our medical equipment (software & hardware) in line with our regulations and policies. Responsibilities include:Working collaboratively with the wider organisation to provide exceptional service to our customers. Services include corrective & preventative maintenance, commissioning & installation of equipment and software & hardware upgrades.Actively participating in the sales process and providing expert technical support throughout the entire life cycle of our customer relationships (from pre-sales through to implementation and post-sales support).Taking a lead in managing and supporting technical escalations through to resolution ensuring all stakeholders are continually updated on progress according to the company process.Providing best-in-class service to our customers with technical support, maintenance, and repairs on equipment by determining the most cost-effective repair/solution to minimize customer downtime.Maintaining a high level of knowledge through continual training and development and keeping up to date of new technologies relevant to your area of focus and take on new technology.Be able to work reasonable additional hours outside business hours at such times as are necessary to carry out the job role efficiently and effectively as defined by Philips from time to time due to the criticality of the equipment, this will include on call support. You will have:Tertiary qualifications in Electronics, Electrical or Biomedical Engineering, or equivalent experience from engineering/service roles in Communications Electronics, RADAR, Instrumentation or Avionics.Previous customer-facing service engineering experience especially in the medical or biomedical industry, with hands-on experience in one or more of the following modalities: Diagnostic X ray (DXR), Image Guided Therapy (IGT), Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) Computed Tomography (CT) or Ultrasound would be highly regarded.Strong IT skills and the ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment.Ideally hold a current Restricted Electrical Licence.Hold a full New Zealand driver’s licence and have the legal right to work in New Zealand.
