Job summary

CGR Services is seeking a Field Service Engineer based in Auckland to install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair specialised electrical and electronic equipment at customer sites across New Zealand and the Pacific region.

You will diagnose faults, provide on-site customer training, and support service sales while ensuring safety and high-quality service. Travel and independent work are integral to the role, with exposure to diverse projects and facilities.

Qualifications

• Electrical/Electronics Engineering degree or equivalent.
• 3+ years field service experience.
• Ability to read electrical and mechanical schematics.
• Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and customer service.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair electrical and electronic equipment at customer sites.
• Diagnose faults using schematics and identify root-cause issues.
• Deliver customer training and technical support as required.
• Respond to service requests and maintenance activities per agreements and KPIs.
• Prepare service reports and maintain accurate records in service systems.
• Manage spare parts, repair cycles and inventory needs.
• Conduct equipment performance assessments and recommend improvements.
• Support service sales opportunities and contribute to revenue initiatives.
• Ensure tools and test equipment are calibrated and maintained.
• Comply with health, safety and environmental requirements.
• Participate in on-call roster when required.
