Job summary

Auckland Council’s Environmental Evaluation and Monitoring unit seeks an Environmental Specialist in Field Hydrology to join the Hydrology and Environmental Data Management team. The role is based in Auckland CBD and Albany workshop, with work across the Auckland region and a strong field focus.

You will monitor rainfall, river flows, groundwater levels and other environmental parameters using specialist equipment.

Qualifications

• Experience in field data collection and equipment handling.
• Strong problem-solving skills for field challenges.
• Good written and verbal communication abilities.

Responsibilities

• Install monitoring equipment and perform low-voltage electrical work.
• Enter streams to gauge flows and survey sites.
• Maintain sites for high-quality data collection.
• Manage operational logistics for field campaigns.
• Process hydrological data according to standards.
