Job summary

Auckland Pride is seeking a Festival Coordinator to join us from October 2026 to March 2027 to help deliver Festival 2027. This hands-on role sits at the heart of festival delivery, collaborating with the Executive Producer and team to support artists, venues, volunteers and partners across administration, operations and logistics.

You'll be organised, people-focused and adaptable, with a passion for arts, culture and Rainbow communities.

Responsibilities

• Support Open Access event producers with event registration and management through Eventotron.
• Assist with venue registration and administration within Eventotron.
• Manage Auckland Pride Festival email inbox and direct communications as required.
• Organise artist passes for Open Access festival events.
• Coordinate RSVPs and invitations for Auckland Pride-produced programmes and events.
• Organise staff attendance schedules and comp ticket allocations for festival events.
• Liaise with volunteers and support volunteer communications.
• Assist with social media content and audience engagement tasks.
• Support Partnerships Lead to source in-kind donations for Festival manaaki packs.
• Provide general festival operations support during the delivery period.

Auckland Pride is a cultural organisation and a kaupapa-driven movement creating platforms for visibility, voice and change through art, events and advocacy.

Each year, the Auckland Pride Festival brings together hundreds of artists, producers, volunteers, venues, community organisations and audiences across Tāmaki Makaurau. Behind all of that is a small, dedicated team making sure the pieces come together.

We're looking for a festival coordinator to join us from October 2026 to March 2027 and help make Festival 2027 happen.

This is a hands-on coordination role at the heart of festival delivery. You'll work closely with the Executive Producer and wider Auckland Pride team, supporting artists and producers, coordinating event administration, keeping communications moving, wrangling festival systems, and helping ensure everyone has what they need to deliver great work.

You'll need to be organised enough to keep track of the details, relational enough to work well with a huge range of people, and adaptable enough to jump in when something unexpected inevitably happens.

The Opportunity

The Festival Coordinator plays a key support role in the delivery of the Festival, assisting with event coordination, artist and venue administration, stakeholder communications, and operational logistics across festival programmes.

Working closely with the Executive Producer and wider team, the Festival Coordinator helps ensure smooth festival operations and positive experiences for artists, audiences, volunteers, and partners.

This is a fast-paced and highly collaborative role suited to someone who is organised, people-focused, and passionate about arts, culture, and Rainbow communities.

Purpose of the role

The Festival Coordinator supports the successful operational delivery of the Festival by ensuring strong coordination, communication, and administrative systems across programmes, events, and stakeholder engagement. The role contributes to creating a welcoming, organised, and accessible festival experience for all involved.

Key Responsibilities

Festival Administration and Coordination

• Support Open Access event producers with event registration and management through Eventotron
• Support Proud Centre event registration and administration within Eventotron
• Assist with venue registration and management processes
• Manage and monitor the Auckland Pride Festival email inbox, responding to enquiries and directing communications as required
• Organise artist passes for Open Access festival events
• Coordinate RSVPs and invitations for Auckland Pride-produced programmes and events
• Organise staff attendance schedules and comp ticket allocations for festival events

Volunteer Coordination

• Liaise with volunteers and support volunteer communications
• Assist the Major Events Producer with volunteer scheduling and coordination during the Festival period

Marketing and Communications Support

• Support the creation and coordination of Festival social media content
• Assist with administrative and coordination tasks related to festival communications and audience engagement

Partnerships and Festival Support

• Support the Partnerships and Advocacy Lead to source in-kind donations and contributions from brands and partners for Festival manaaki packs
• Assist with general festival operations and team support as required during the delivery period

• Understanding of and commitment to Takatāpui and Rainbow communities and inclusive practice
• High emotional intelligence and a relational style that builds trust, clarity, and accountability.
• Sound Te Tiriti o Waitangi competency and commitment to embedding Te Tiriti principles into practice.
