Placements24 is seeking an experienced Farm Manager to oversee mixed farming operations in Queenstown, Eastern Cape. You will lead both livestock and crop activities, ensure welfare, and optimize resource use.

The role requires hands-on leadership, strong budgeting skills, and the ability to manage staff in a rural setting. A relevant agricultural qualification and at least four years of farm management experience are essential.

Qualifications

• A relevant qualification in Agriculture, Farm Management, Animal Science, or Agronomy.
• Minimum of 4 years of proven farm management experience in mixed farming.
• Solid knowledge of livestock management (breeding, feeding, health).
• Understanding of crop cultivation techniques and soil management.
• Experience in managing farm staff and operations.
• Strong budget management and financial acumen.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
• Ability to work independently under pressure in a rural setting.
• Valid driver's license for operating in Queenstown district.

Responsabilités

About the Role

Our client, a well-established agricultural enterprise, is looking for an experienced and versatile Farm Manager to oversee their mixed farming operations in Queenstown, Eastern Cape. This role requires a broad understanding of livestock management, crop cultivation, and general farm administration. You will be responsible for the efficient and profitable running of the farm, ensuring the welfare of livestock, optimizing crop yields, and managing resources effectively. The ideal candidate will have a practical, hands-on approach and strong leadership skills to guide the farm team. Requirements

• A relevant qualification in Agriculture, Farm Management, Animal Science, or Agronomy.
• Minimum of 4 years of proven experience in farm management, preferably with exposure to mixed farming systems.
• Solid knowledge of livestock management principles (breeding, feeding, health).
• Understanding of crop cultivation techniques and soil management.
• Experience in managing farm staff and operations effectively.
• Good financial acumen and budget management skills.
